Help

A few quick answers to help you get around Cosmifold.

Getting around

Scroll to zoom in and out, or pinch on touch screens. Smaller labels hide when you're far away; zoom closer to see more detail.

Drag empty space to move around. Double-click an item in the Cosmos, or double-tap on touch screens, to move closer. Click Universe in the sidebar to return to the big picture.

Search finds items by name across your active Cosmos and takes you directly to them.

Right-click an item, or open its ••• menu, for more actions.

Organizing things

Put related things inside other things. Use the + beside an item to add something inside it.

Japan
  → Food
    → Restaurants
      → Reservations

Just add things. Cosmifold automatically changes how they look as you go deeper. You don't need to choose whether something is a Sun, Planet or Moon.

Starting something new? Use the + beside Universe to create a Galaxy. Start blank, or choose a starter like Trip, Home project or Class / course.

Select an item and use the right panel to keep its Files, Media, Notes, Bookmarks and Location together.

Moving & copying

In the sidebar, Ctrl-click on Windows/Linux or Cmd-click on macOS selects individual items. Shift-click selects a range.

Drag a sidebar item onto another to move it inside. If several are selected, dragging one moves the selected group together.

Choose Copy, then Paste where you want it. Pick:

Make a copy
Creates an independent version. Changes to one won't affect the other.

Link existing item
Shows the same item in another place too. Changes made in either place stay synced.

Your Passport can live in Personal Documents and also appear in Japan Trip. It's still one Passport.

Duplicate structure
Copies the organization but leaves the content behind. Choose a new name; Notes, Files, Media, Bookmarks and Locations aren't copied.

Mexico trip
  → Hotels
  → Restaurants
  → Transport

Constellations

Putting things inside other things answers: "Where does this item live?"

A Constellation answers: "What things belong together?"

A restaurant might live inside Japan → Food, while also belonging to a "Favorites" Constellation.

Constellations don't move or copy your items. They simply group related things across different parts of Cosmifold. Use the + beside Constellations to start one.

Locations

Add a place name or address in the right panel's Location section. Choose Open in Google Maps to see it on the map.

Linked versions of the same item share the same Location.
